CAPI Message Transport Protocol for the BlueZ stack

by Marcel Holtmann

1. Introduction

This is the implementation of the CAPI Message Transport Protocol (CMTP) for the Bluetooth Common ISDN Access Profile (CIP).

The version 0.3 and newer needs at least patch-2.4.20-mh6, patch-2.4.19-mh6 or patch-2.4.18-mh3, which can be downloaded here. It will not work with the Linux kernel 2.4.21-rc2.

With version 0.8 the ciptool is not longer part of the CMTP distribution and must be downloaded separately.

The final version 1.0 of the CMTP driver is not available as a seperate source package. It is now part of the Bluetooth kernel patches (for example patch-2.4.21-mh2) from this site. Starting with 2.4.22-pre2 and 2.6.2 it is also part of the stable Linux kernels. A detailed description can be found in the German HOWTO about Bluetooth and ISDN under Linux.
